(upbeat music) - Hi, I'm Sharon Collins, the host of a show called Georgia Outdoors.
We're at Henderson Park, one of my favorite places to get out in nature.
I come here and walk the trails.
And this is a map of the trails and we're gonna walk the white trail today.
(bright music) So here's how you can always tell if you're on the right trail.
I'm on the white trail.
There's a white mark on the tree.
There's also a sign here.
White goes this way.
Red goes that way, which means I'm supposed to go this way.
A tip, see these roots?
You've got to watch where you're walking because I have almost tripped and gone head first, walking these trails.
So watch out for the tree roots.
Also another tip, let's say you see a snake in the trail.
What do you do?
You leave it alone.
You don't poke at it.
You don't take a stick and try to move it.
You don't try to kill it.
That's how a lot of people have gotten bitten.
You just leave the snake alone.
If it doesn't move back up real slow and go the other way.
I'm gonna to keep walking on the trail and I will see you on the other side of the lake.
(bright music) Well, I finished my walk on the white trail which goes around the lake.
There's one other thing I want to show you.
Whenever you're on the edge of a river or a lake, look how easy it would be to slide in and you might not be able to get back out.
So it's best to have an adult with you.
Just be careful.
You don't want to fall in the water.
Now I don't mean to scare you with all these things.
Here's the best way to enjoy nature.
Just sit down and watch.
It might be a fish, there might be a frog, but you can just relax.
I hope you have fun.
Get out in nature.
