Experts say airlines learned lessons from summer travel mayhem

It’s been a tough summer for travelers, with mass flight cancellations and delays, record-high gas prices and demand for travel back to pre-pandemic levels. But at Newark airport this weekend’s travel appeared to go far more smoothly than on the Memorial Day and July Fourth weekends . Experts said airlines and federal transportation leaders learned lessons at the height of the summer travel havoc.
