Grace Hudowalski was the first woman to hike the 46 peaks of the Adirondacks and was a pioneer in the creation of the ADK Forty-Sixers club. Grace conquered the mountains at a time when hiking was seen as a masculine discipline. She hiked her first peak, Mt.Marcy when she was 15 and completed her 46th peak in 1937 with her husband Ed, making her the ninth person ever to have climbed all 46 peaks.
